The City of Monticello has recently completed upgrading its WWTP to a state of the are 1.6MGD (3.6MGD peak) Biological Nutrient Removal System including advanced processes to remove phosphorus, ammonia, and total-nitrogen from its discharge into Lake Freeman. The facility offers advanced treatment cost and energy efficiency while reducing its reliance on chemical additions.
