The Public Communications & Outreach (PCO) Committee is focused on educating students, teachers, and the general public on the importance of maintaining and improving our water environment. The committee strives to achieve this goal through recommending, developing, and assisting community groups in conducting public education programs, continue to be a sour of information for the WEF Junior Stockholm Award, and continue to improve relationships with like-industry associations. The committee develops and coordinates activities with other association and federation committees as well as with organizations outside of the association to facilitate a broader participation and cooperation on issues of common concern and to mutually strengthen knowledge and understanding.
The PCOC committee puts together a flip calendar showcasing wastewater treatment plants throughout Indiana. WWTPs interested in being part of the calendar, or companies wishing to become a calendar sponsor, please contact Bob Roudebush.
The PCOC committee provides kids of all ages an opportunity to paint a rain barrel that will eventually get auctioned off at the Annual IWEA conference. All of the proceeds go to Water for People. If you have a class who would be interested in participating, please contact Teddy Deahl.
The PCOC committee attends as many Indiana science fairs as possible to judge and present awards to water-related projects. Please contact Teddy Deahl if you would like to get more involved.
