DESCRIPTION:The Wastewater Challenge is a day of hands-on events designed to test and stretch your how-to knowledge of wastewater. It takes a team to rise to the challenges created by the Laboratory\, Operations & Maintenance\, Residuals & Resource Recovery\, Collection Systems\, Pretreatment\, and Safety committees. Competitive Teams rely on their wits\, experience\, and diverse members for the high score that will take them to WEFTEC to represent Indiana. \nThis year\, IWEA is excited to announce a TWO-DAY event for 2025! The competition will take place on BOTH May 19th and 20th. Competitors must be present both days to participate. So grab your team and get ready for two full days of excitement! \nThe top competitive team in the IWEA Wastewater Challenge will receive up to $10\,000 in funds to help send them to the WEFTEC Ops Challenge in Chicago this October! DESCRIPTION:Join the Northern Indiana Operators Association (NIOA) at their 16th Annual Golf Outing! This year will be hosted at the Rozella Ford Golf Club in Warsaw\, IN. \nThis is a great opportunity for operators and businesses to get to know each other. The event will consist of 1-hour NIOA business/educational meeting for operators to get their CEUs. After\, those that have signed up to golf will be treated to  lunch followed by a round of golf. It will be a scramble consisting of a four-player team. SUMMARY:SIOA Indiana Finance Authority Meeting & Plant Tour
DESCRIPTION:In 2018\, the State convened the Water Infrastructure Task Force (“Task Force”) to study drinking water and wastewater utility needs and best practices in Indiana. One recommendation of the Task Force was for the State to assist utilities with long term planning by establishing Water Infrastructure Study Areas for the purpose of studying supply and demand\, drought preparedness\, infrastructure needs\, and opportunities for utility collaboration within a region. \nAs a result of these recommendations\, the 2019 Indiana General Assembly enacted Senate Enrolled Act 4. (“SEA 4”) requiring the IFA to conduct regional meetings throughout the state to enable drinking water and wastewater utilities to work together to address long term needs. SEA 4 also requires drinking water and wastewater utilities to report their participation in the meetings to the IFA. Communities seeking SRF funding must attend a Regional Planning Meeting. Sarah Hudson from IFA will be leading the meeting\, and attendance at the meeting counts for your yearly requirement! \nThere will also be WWTP tours offered before the meeting.
