DESCRIPTION:The IWEA Laboratory Committee is offering a 2-day microscopy workshop this October 8th and 9th at Woodland Park’s Sycamore Room in Portage\, IN. \nOur presenter\, Toni Glymph-Martin\, will take us through the journey of wastewater microbiology and process control\, identification and control of filamentous bacteria\, how to use microbiology to monitor nutrient removal- and much more! \nParticipation is limited for this event. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Indiana Industrial Operators Association. \nBill has been involved in the development and teaching of the Registered Pretreatment Coordinator and Certified Pretreatment Coordinator courses.  He studied at Tri State University and Trine University graduating in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and he holds certifications as Class D and IV Wastewater Operator and Class DSL and WT3 Water Operator. \nHe is employed by Aqua Indiana\, most recently serving as their Laboratory Supervisor\, previously held positions in Environmental Compliance and operations for the last 15 years.

DESCRIPTION:The Wastewater Challenge is a day of hands-on events designed to test and stretch your how-to knowledge of wastewater. It takes a team to rise to the challenges created by the Laboratory\, Operations & Maintenance\, Residuals & Resource Recovery\, Collection Systems\, Pretreatment\, and Safety committees. Competitive Teams rely on their wits\, experience\, and diverse members for the high score that will take them to WEFTEC to represent Indiana. \nThis year\, IWEA is excited to announce a TWO-DAY event for 2025! The competition will take place on BOTH May 19th and 20th. Competitors must be present both days to participate. So grab your team and get ready for two full days of excitement! \nThe top competitive team in the IWEA Wastewater Challenge will receive up to $10\,000 in funds to help send them to the WEFTEC Ops Challenge in Chicago this October! This 3-day course provides a basic overview of inspection and observation requirements for sewer and water construction. It is taught from the Inspection Manual for Sewer and Water Construction which was prepared by the IWEA Collection Systems Committee and IUPUI. DESCRIPTION:The IWEA Laboratory Committee is offering a 2-day microscopy workshop this October 9th and 10th at Spring Hill Envision Center\, Jeffersonville\, Indiana. \nOur presenter\, Toni Glymph-Martin\, will take us through the journey of wastewater microbiology and process control\, identification and control of filamentous bacteria\, how to use microbiology to monitor nutrient removal- and much more! \nParticipation is limited for this event.
