SUMMARY:2025 Microscopy Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The IWEA Laboratory Committee is offering a 2-day microscopy workshop this October 8th and 9th at Woodland Park’s Sycamore Room in Portage\, IN. \nOur presenter\, Toni Glymph-Martin\, will take us through the journey of wastewater microbiology and process control\, identification and control of filamentous bacteria\, how to use microbiology to monitor nutrient removal- and much more! \nParticipation is limited for this event. Register early to reserve your spot. \n  \nEarn 6.0 CEUs or PDHs a day!  \nThis course has been approved for a total of 12.0 Wastewater or Drinking Water CEUs as well as Engineering PDHs. \nThis course has also been approved in Illinois by IEPA for 12.0 PDH/TCH. \n  \n$280 –IWEA members*\, $330 –Non-members \n*The member rate will also apply to Illinois Water Environment Association members. \nThe 2-day session is 8am – 3pm (CST)\, lunches will be provided. \nSign-in will begin at 7:30am. \n  \nThis is a hands on workshop and you will need to bring your own microscope. \nBring a sample from your facility and learn to identify your microbiology! \n  \nInstructor:  Toni Glymph-Martin\, Environmental Microbiologist at Wastewater Microbiology Solutions LLC\nToni Glymph-Martin has considerable knowledge of the principles\, practices and procedures of environmental science as it relates to water quality monitoring and regulations; water and wastewater treatment; and environmental research. She has spent 27 years of her career working in public utilities and have worked 15 years as an environmental regulator.  Her experience provides her with a unique perspective and a thorough understanding of the issues and challenges of both the regulated community and regulating agencies.
