Webinar: OSHA Trench and Confined Spaces Standards - Indiana WEA

Webinar: OSHA Trench and Confined Spaces Standards

Friday, May 15 @ 02:30 PM to 03:30 PM

Excavation and trenching are among the most hazardous construction operations. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Excavation standards, 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 1926, Subpart P, contain requirements for excavation and trenching operations. Jesse Linville, BY Construction Trainer, will highlight key elements of the standards and describe safe work practices that can protect workers from cave-ins and other hazards. The presentation will provide guidelines and rules that will help keep workers safe by using detailed photos, info-graphs, short videos, and personal stories to show OSHA Excavation Standards.

Jesse has over 15 years of field experience in the construction industry with a primary focus on new residential construction and residential remodeling. Serving in education for the past eight years, he has guided students to build homes from the foundation up including, framing, electrical, plumbing, finish carpentry, and exterior finishes. With a record of 100% graduation rate 7 of the 8 years in high school, many of Jesse’s former students are working in the construction industry today in several different trades. As BY Construction Trainer with ICRF, Jesse educates adults in Core construction skills through NCCER and certifies adults with OSHA 10. With these certifications and years of relationships with local construction companies, Jesse’s role is to prepare and connect students to employment in the construction industry.
