Excavation and trenching are among the most hazardous construction operations. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Excavation standards, 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 1926, Subpart P, contain requirements for excavation and trenching operations. Jesse Linville, BY Construction Trainer, will highlight key elements of the standards and describe safe work practices that can protect workers from cave-ins and other hazards. The presentation will provide guidelines and rules that will help keep workers safe by using detailed photos, info-graphs, short videos, and personal stories to show OSHA Excavation Standards.

Serving in education for the past eight years, he has guided students to build homes from the foundation up including, framing, electrical, plumbing, finish carpentry, and exterior finishes.
