Recreational Water Quality is becoming a national crisis. Look at what is happening on both Florida coasts, and even municipal drinking water supplies, as we have seen with Cleveland, Ohio. We have had recent incidents with infectious disease vectors being discovered in the Geist Reservoir watershed, 2 blocks from our house. The problem was identified by a local governmental lab and the problem was buried, and the public was NOT notified. My personal interest in this topic, as well as being a recreational user of the reservoir compelled me to do some investigation which ultimately ended up in the local news a couple times in the last month:

I thought you might be interested in this topic, because the problem is becoming more acute around the country.. I, and other concerned citizens, have officially launched the Make Geist Healthy Again (MGHA) initiative with the release of our facebook site (see link below). I would encourage you to visit and become members of this facebook site. Even if you do not live in the central Indiana area, it is likely this problem is already growing wherever you live, and you may be interested in seeing how we work towards making sure that public health as it relates to recreational water borne illnesses is addressed to assure public safety.

And another Annual Conference comes to an end. What an experience we have every year thanks to the IWEA membership and of course - Julia, Dylee, and Amy.

Also want to give a shout out to all of the vendors who make this all possible.

Two and a half days of learning, fellowship and fun with the BEST there is! Congratulations to all award winners.
