The Residual and Resource Recovery Committee is made up of individuals from all across the water and wastewater sector. The Committee’s mission is to provide leadership and education for the management of residuals, biosolids, and other waste streams, and to promote the conservation and reuse of natural resources. Throughout the year the Committee helps plan the Core Conference and IWEA Annual Conference, organizes an event for the Wastewater Operators Challenge, and hosts a Lunch and Learn each Fall.
Awards
Biosolids Award
An award to recognize significant contributions in the development and implementation of cost-effective, environmentally safe, and publicly acceptable biosolids beneficial use practices, which recycle nutrients, improve soil conditions, or otherwise conserve valuable natural resources.
Resource Recovery Award
An award to recognize programs that have gone above and beyond
in efforts that align with sustainability in the categories of water, energy, nutrients, and consumables.
