IWEA Awards 2

IWEA presents awards each year at the annual conference in August.  Deadlines for most IWEA award nominations are June 1st.  If you have any questions regarding submission guidelines or qualifications for any awards, please contact the Awards Committee Chairperson.

The Collection System Awards are presented in up to three categories as follows:

  • Professional of the Year
  • Large Facility (Facility serving a population of 10,000 or more)
  • Small Facility (Facility serving a population of less than 10,000)

The award consists of a plaque suitably inscribed with the recipient ’s name. This is a great way to honor the individuals and facilities working so hard to improve the collection system profession.

Individual Award Submission Requirements

  • Completed Nomination Form (see Application and Deadline tab)
  • Written description of the individual’s accomplishments and discussion of their contribution to the collection systems field. Reference letters may be provided but are not required.

Large and Small Facility Submittal Requirements

  • Completed nomination form (See Application and Deadline tab)
  • Photographs – include up to six (6) photographs pertinent to the nominated project and include brief written description of each photograph.

To submit an application for the Collections Awards:

  • Complete the Nomination Form selecting Professional of the Year, Large, or Small Facility. Include supplemental materials essential to understanding the nomination.
  • Completed forms may be submitted in writing (IWEA, 8909 Purdue Road, Suite 130, Indianapolis, IN 46268) or via email to ewehmeyer@donohue-associates.com.
  • Nominations are due by June 22nd.

The Laboratory Excellence Award in the form of a plaque is to be awarded for outstanding achievement in the implementation of laboratory technique and administration. The awards may be given to municipal facilities for each classification (I, II, III, IV [a] < 10 MGD and IV [b] > 10 MGD).

Candidates for the award shall be determined by the Laboratory Committee and is based upon a graded evaluation of their criteria.  Candidates must complete the Inspection Application and be inspected by a member of the Laboratory committee to be eligible for the Laboratory Excellence Award.

  • Laboratory Inspection Applications must be submitted to the Lab Committee chair by mid-February of the current year.
